Nursery Parent Information
Learning through play is at the heart of what we do. We plan for the children’s learning using a thematic approach from our curriculum. This gives us the freedom to follow the children’s interests while enabling us to introduce new things to them at the same time. Continuous provision activities are carefully planned based on the children’s needs and interests and provided in the Nursery setting for the children to access freely, enabling child initiated and adult supported learning. This provision together with planned adult led activities ensures that the children are learning across all seven areas of the EYFS curriculum and also means we can respond to the individual needs of the children. Some of the activities include mark making with a range of materials such as chalk, felt tips, paint, water, pastels, crayons, in sand etc., junk modelling, sand play, water play, computers, role play, small world play, construction materials, painting, investigation, reflective area, music, developmental movement play, number and shape activities, games and puzzles, puppets, play-dough and other sensory experiences, cooking, wheeled toys, fine motor activities, dough disco, phonics, and singing.
